ABOUT:

The TAB has maintained a reputation as one of the top premier event bands on the East Coast for over a decade. They hold 2025 awards for The Knot (including Hall of Fame), Wedding Wire and Zola. Based in Charleston, SC this diverse and energetic group performs everything from Current Hits to Country (classic and new), Motown, Classic Rock and Shag & Beach music. The TAB typically performs as a 5-8 piece band featuring multiple vocalists (male & female), horns, piano/organ, electric/acoustic guitars, bass and drums. Travis & Co perform roughly 100 shows per year and have performed all over the US from Los Angeles to Chicago to New York to South Florida and points inbetween. We pride ourselves on being easy to work with and bringing the party by showing we love what we do!

Their broad variety ensures something for everyone and sets include cocktails, dinner and dancing. The diversity of material ranges from The Killers to Tyler Childers, Elton John to Bruno Mars, Zac Brown to Zach Bryan, Stevie Wonder to Ed Sheeran, Springsteen to Eric Church and Earth, Wind & Fire to Billy Joel. Many of the covers they perform are listed by genre (Current, Classic Rock, Country, Motown/Oldies etc) below.

Raised in Greenville, SC, Travis holds a B.A. in Music Performance from the University of Richmond. As a NARAS member he is a voting member of the Grammys and his 5 albums of original music can be heard on all streaming platforms as well as film and TV shows. He recently performed as a featured soloist with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and opened for Bruce Hornsby and John Hiatt. His latest album "Migrant Heart" features Edwin McCain and Sadler Vaden (Jason Isbell). The Washington Post writes, "…the songs benefit from the sheer quality of writing, whether the tale is impassioned, introspective or inspiring."

In addition to performing some 30+ weddings a year TAB clients include the PGA, GE, IBM, Kiawah Resort, Wild Dunes Resort, Cisco, Rick Hendick and Merrill Lynch among others. We would love to perform for you!

We took a little leap of faith with booking Travis Allison Band without even hearing them live in person --- and we are so grateful we did. Travis Alison Band simply made the wedding. We got married two weeks ago, and everyone is still reaching out to us with comments regarding how awesome the band was. They had the whole wedding on the dance floor having the time of their lives -- even at the end, everyone was chanting "one more song" no one wanted them to stop!!! They even went so far as to learn the song my daughter chose for her dance with her Dad, which was not on their usual playlist. For any other groom reading these reviews, as we generally are the most money-conscious when dealing with wedding planning, I'm writing this for you so you can have confidence when choosing this band to play for you and feel confident in the money that will be well spent when you do. When we had made the decision to go with a live band instead of a DJ, I was a bit timid at first. I met with three different bands to play for our wedding, an outside venue in the late April Charleston heat, and decided to go with Travis and the Travis Allison Band because of his professionalism, courtesy, and easy-going politeness when meeting him as well as the sound tracks we had listened to and the style of music we knew he could play. We were absolutely not disappointed. We could not have had a better wedding band play than TAB - everyone on this site knows how much weddings can cost a person now, and I will, absolutely and without reservation, say the money we paid TAB to play was the best money we spent on the entire wedding. We had his five piece band play (I completely recommend getting the sax player, we requested mainly classic rock and country for our reception and they killed it) for us and they were absolutely amazing and completely set the scene and mood for us. We had multiple people come up to us during the reception to tell us how thrilled they were to see a live band on top of how great they sounded. We were going for a southern garden-party theme for the reception dinner and Travis and his band accommodated us at the last minute by looking fantastic with a great look. We had two areas set up we needed music at, some timeline and other changes, and Travis was incredibly gracious, professional, and time-oriented in accommodating what we needed by setting up a few speakers, mic, and ipod at some docks seventy yards from where his band set up was while making announcements for us. "My now wife is a musician and wanted "a real band" for our wedding as opposed to some cheesy "wedding band." We looked for a really long time because from all the weddings we've been to (and there have been so, so many) the band dictates the fun of the wedding (followed by libations, food, and decorations and in that order wedding planning couples!). Finally we hit upon the Travis Allison Band and he told us he was playing a solo show (because he's a real musician) and we should stop by. We met Mr. Allison as he was setting up, and he was super personable and professional. Then after playing 2-3 songs (my now wife and I had huge grins on our faces the entire time), my (now) mother-in-law starts asking for requests ("you need to know if he can do the kind of music you want"): motown, classic rock, etc, and he's just knocking them out of the park. We booked him on the spot. Mr. Allison was a joy to work with, and we were spoiled for choice with their massive song list. A month before the wedding, Mr. Allison came out to the site to make sure everything would be good (again the man is a professional), and offered very helpful suggestions to improve to experience of the guest (wedding planing couples--your guests will remember more of the reception than you will, so make sure they have a good time). When the day of the wedding came, the band showed up early and got everything set up super quick. They couldn't have been more fantastic. I can't say enough about how great they were or how many people said it was the best wedding they've been to (a couple even asked for the song list for their own weddings, which Mr. Allison provided--who does that?). I'd like to think it was the wedding couple, but let's be honest, it was because of the Travis Allison Band, a real band. Thank you so much!"
